I wrote some stuff about Ba.2 Covid variant almost a month ago. Some of what I wrote turned out to be quite relevant.
A new study comparing Ba.1 and Ba.2 “Omicron variants” is out. The short of it is that Ba.2 is much more pathogenic than Ba.1 and it destroys lungs to a much greater extent.
The article frankly deserves to be read in its entirety and it reads like a nicely researched Substack article, in addition to the amazing experimental data shown in it. I am glad that my previous Ba.2 article from a month ago mentions similar things to what this article says.
It also may make you very worried.
The summary of it is:
Ba.2 is 1.4 times more infectious than even Ba.1 that is now subsiding in the US
Ba.2 bypasses “Covid Vaxx” protections even more than Ba.1
Ba.2 bypasses monoclonal antibodies even more than Ba.1
Ba.2 loves infecting and colonizing lungs, as opposed to Ba.1 which lives in upper airways
Ba.2 forms “syncytia”, which are clumps of cells fused together, more like the original Wuhan virus and much more compared to Ba.1
BA.1-induced humoral immunity is less effective against BA.2 — so people who just had Ba.1 may not have enough protection from Ba.2.
Scientists infected hamsters with Ba.1, Ba.2. They learned that compared to Ba.1 infected hamsters, Ba.2 infected ones lost weight, experienced respiratory distress and low blood oxygen. In other words, the infected hamsters were very sick.
The highest viral loads in those sick hamsters were in the lung regions, that Ba.1 (the Omicron that we knew so far) mostly bypassed. The load was 9.3 times HIGHER than Ba.1!
The scientists actually cut out the lungs of these unfortunate hamsters and found extensive lung damage and inflammation of the lungs. The lung changes (enlarged and inflamed pneumocytes) had some similarities to lung epithelial cancer and caused hypoxia (lack of oxygen) and labored breathing and weight loss in the unfortunate lab animals. And is not the “good kind of weight loss”.
Calling Ba.1 and Ba.2 “Omicron” is a total misnomer. Ba.2 is farther, genomically, from Ba.1 than say Delta variant is from Beta variant. These scientists, and I agree with them, are saying that Ba.2 should be recognized as a unique variant.
Ba.2 loves very highly vaccinated Denmark and look what is happening there:
The most recent deaths per day in Denmark are 40+ persons a day, which would be (due to larger population) 2,200 daily deaths in the USA. But Denmark’s population is much healthier than USA. In any case, you can see that these graphs are troubling.
Ba.2 also grows in South Africa and look at the deaths there: they just keep on rising!
Ba1.1
Besides raising alarm about Ba.2, the article also pointed out that B1.1, a sub-variant of Ba1, is also very pathogenic, even though it uses different mechanisms. In the USA, B1.1 is actually rising faster than Ba.2 as of now. This may be because the USA is less vaccinated than Denmark but it is also a bit of a mystery.
This is how these variants were spread in various countries (look up your own country)
Where is Ba.2 now?

I started writing my article and saw that Thailand Medical also posted an article about this study. I decided to publish my article anyway and include stuff that Thailand Medical did not discuss.
Some quotes from my month-ago article
Quotes from my Jan 22 article:
As they diverged before either of them was introduced, calling BA.2 a sub-variant of Omicron may be factually and genealogically incorrect and their relationship may be more sibling-like than parent-like.
This article from Denmark features Danish researcher Anders Fomsgaard warns that BA.2 may provide a greater risk of reinfection of people who just had Omicron BA.1. It makes sense epidemiologically, because it agrees with the graphs of cases.
I am still wondering when are they going to go after these bastards that used gain of function to make the WuFlu in the first place and started all of this. If we don’t this is just the start.
You were certainly not wrong about Omicron in my book and this too sounds concerning. I saw wise words elsewhere, which is that we should all take this lull between waves to prep and get ourselves a little more off the grid, before the next wave of disease panic and totalitarianism hits.
