Question for my readers: do you prefer sorting comments ny "new" or by "top", thanks

Sorting by new gives everyone's comments more exposure

I had not read this question at the time, but now I see this - I think "new" is the best way to sort - my opinion. Thank you for asking this question.

If I want a digest of where the consciousness of a readership is for an article, I look at top. If I want a more recent impression randomly, I choose new.

New please, I always switch to new.

Top creates attention bias. We don't need any more of that.

I also vote for "New."

On first read I ALWAYS select "Chronological" then on subsequent checks I sort by "New."

I like having the three options but prefer a default preset at "New."

I have my stack set for "New First" because it helps see chronological comments and it does increase the visibility.

So, unless people have been asleep, a company called Dexcom has been saturating the tv during evening prime time in Australia for its "wearable" insulin monitor, that basically invades the hell of out of your privacy while monitoring your blood glucose and providing real time data via their app to your mobile phone and is able to control an individuals insulin pump. Imagine if the insulin in the pump is modified using one of these "gene therapies'. Poor diabetic becomes a walking lab rat. If they die suddenly, nobody is going to ask questions, "Oh I am so sorry, they died from complications from diabetes. Truly frightening times we are entering. I have a few other scenarios I prefer not to think about that really scare the crap out of me.

When in the hisory of man has a new invention not been used as a weapon for domination and control? Like jumping off a skyscraper, this is just one reason why some things should not be pursued even if we can.

Als consider the Supreme Court's ruling that allows DNA that is manipulated in a lab as eligible to be patented if the altered DNA sequences is not found in nature. The Court specifically mentioned the ability to patent a type of DNA known as complementary DNA (cDNA). This in turn allows the owner of patent to take hold of and own the modified individual(s) as they are no longer considered part of nature and hence not human. This would be slavery redefined and only the beginning of a new future based on genetic modifications. See the 2015 movie "Jupiter Ascendng" for a view of where genetics may lead.

The complexity of every part of the biomass is vast. I feel that so many scientists are riveted into the microcosm of their own little studies and research tunnels -- rarely knowing or understanding its "planned" applications nor much caring about the unforeseen consequences -- immediate or downstream.

There must be higher and higher levels of influence that know the ultimate purpose(s) of these studies and they would be the ones who finance the same. Science for hire ... Carrot luring them to future patents and/or fame... likely to be dumped or perhaps, even murdered... (there is a precedent):

https://prepareforchange.net/2016/02/20/list-of-over-100-dead-microbiologists/

Also the crash of MH17 in 2014 over Ukraine was very curious to me in that the plane had world-renowned AIDS scientists on board enroute to AIDS conference in Australia:

https://www.ibtimes.com/over-100-aids-researchers-including-leading-aids-expert-among-those-killed-mh17-crash-1632224

There was wholesale suppression of very strange evidence at the time -- the first being the re-routing of the flight over the Ukrainian war zone. ... and much, much more.

Kill 2 birds with one stone ?

Get rid of AIDS researchers who may have had a some sort of cure or breakthrough on AIDS ?

Blame the Ru$$ians ..?

Both raise very interesting questions that were never answered.

The US had satellites directly over the region NEVER released anything from them.

I know I have more links but need to find them.

We should probably not be playing God. The food pyramid is not well suited for good health, nor is most of the garbage available at the local grocery store. So the government and corporations make us sick and then sell us the cure. It’s long past time we get off the merry go round and take back ownership of our health and well being.

As an aside, it does seem like we’re getting very near the end of times. There is evidence of this in society like the normalization of pedophilia, the insistence that boys can magically becomes girls and so on. There is also physical evidence of this, the loss of Earths magnetic field, the never before seen changes on other planets in our solar system and the novae in nearby stars. Our star is next.

We are headed to the real Great Reset within the next couple of decades, reliving the great biblical flood. This Great Reset will be great indeed, sending all surviving societies back to the Stone Age.

Paraphrasing the great Dr. Ian Malcolm from Jurassic Park, "Your scientists were so focused on what they could do that they never stopped to think if they should". Call me a Luddite, but this kind of biological tinkering seems insane and dangerous. One wonders if our species can survive our own hubris as we develop technologies such as this, AI, etc.

These presumed scientists don't even know how ludicrous they are. Very likely they enjoy being dangerous. Knowledge is like wealth, is requires wisdom to be of use. Only the steady can be trusted with with either. The Western world has developed so much junk knowledge that it surprises me every day that we find ourselves alive at all.
