Obviously, science like everything else in life could be good or bad. A knife can cut a piece of cheese, or it could stab someone to death. A laboratory can do life saving research, but if directed by psychopaths the same lab will produce products that could be quite diabolical. I’m no card carrying PETA type, but every time I read about the horrific suffering of animals at the hands of “scientists” - be they beagles by sand flea, or these chimps - it just makes my blood boil. I fully realize human suffering is even worse than animal suffering, but these animal experiments….God, I hate them. Disgusting perversion of man’s custody of the earth.
Psychiatrists say sadistic animal cruelty is one of the early signs of psychopathy in children. It's very possible, "mad scientists" are playing out their fantasies which when working in a research lab happens to be state sanctioned.
