Not to mention that with an event so far removed in the future, even if it is true, our best chance is adapting to it with a strong economy. It makes no sense to impoverish the world as this will only impede progress and any possibility of adapting to changed conditions.

Plenty of people live in places with average temperatures way higher than most Americans, and last time I checked, they are not dying. On the contrary, in countries like Brazil, the absence of severe winters in most of the country allow for multiple crops per year and raising free-range cattle all year round.

I had a lefty friend tell me 2 degrees C increase would destroy humanity. He said ‘we have taken 100,000 years to become who we are at this temperature. We can’t adapt to a sudden two degree rise over a mere fifty years!’ I said ‘I go to my house in Mexico every winter. It is consistently 20 degrees C warmer. I adapt by putting on flip flops. It isn’t that hard.’

Humans can live in Northern Alberta, and Venezuela. Probably 30 degrees C difference. No problem living in both climate zones. As if a degree or two change would even be noticed.
