I completely agree. I've been saying for almost three years now that this whole thing, all of this craziness, has some link to "Operation Paperclip". For those of you not yet familiar with Operation Paperclip......The United States government (the "O.S.S." Office of Strategic Services....now known as the CIA) brought 1,700 of Hitlers top scientists, doctors, engineers, etc into the United States after WWII and placed them into top positions within our government, running programs like the NASA space program. No it is not! A small group calling themselves Te Wakaminenga Maori government claim they never ceded sovereignty. Codswallop. I was really susprised Reiner was sucked in by that, but having seen some of the comments about him above, that may explain a lot.

It was not a partnership... Queen Victoria didn't "do" partnerships. The years from 1840 to 1900 were then relatively peaceful.
The Te Wakaminenga lot claim an earlier Declaration of Independence in 1835, organised by James Busby who was worried the French were going to annex NZ, is valid. It is not, because it was signed by a relative handful of northern chiefs who then proceeded to quarrel with each other and not fulfil the obligations of the DOI.... and most of those same chiefs signed the 1840 TOW anyway.
If you were going to be colonised by anyone it seems to me it was good luck to be colonised by the British.

In all truth most, people in OZ are on some sort of anti-depressants (most of my uni students are on at least one medication and apparently that is "normal") and I imagine that the NZ would be the same.
