I think that we need to watch the upcoming elections VERY carefully.
I hope also that the elections will actually happen -- and there will not be a sudden and totally unexpected disruptive emergency
I believe that the biggest thing for those of us in the US will be the upcoming elections. It’s not just about changing the direction of the country (which is important), but it’s also about proving to ourselves that we still have the ability to do so.
I think that we will have the elections, I just hope that they aren’t tampered with.
The ‘alleged’ fraud in the last election along with the subsequent heavy handed actions of the Biden administration since then have left many people questioning whether we are still a free country.
I think that a mostly honest election will do a lot toward setting things right in the US. It won’t fix everything (or even most things) but may restore some citizen morale. Maybe some of the insanity that we’ve had to deal with will taper off. And what happens here effects the rest of the world.

Any sort of method of voting for descent candidates would involve eliminating ones from parties with long track records of criminality e.g. D or R. That would be like a first step just to cut out some blatently obvious bad candidates. long before you even had to engage a tiny amount of brain power to evaluate a candidate.

Or better yet, get involved, run for office, be a polling official, become active in your party to help select candidates. But above all, no complaining if you don't do the absolute minimum.
