Knighted by a TYRANNICAL, COLONISING, SLAVE TRADING and THIEVING .. Monarchy! The Monarchy, the Aristocracy and the ruling Elites have not changed for many hundreds of years in Britain - just take a look at their castles and lands (estates of over 32,000 acres) Their AGENDA has simply moved forward and allied itself with other European countries, the US, Australia, Canada etc ..
Although it's a topic for a different discussion, many famous thinkers would disagree. Nietzsche for one, and with whom I'm most familiar, favored an aristocracy and was rather dubious of liberal democracy. I'd have to say the intervening 130(+) years have proven him right. Now don't get me wrong, I love my (American) concept of a constitutional republic, but like many think it lost its way. At the time it was an innovation: a republic that rejected monarchy and hereditary nobility; one that would be ruled by land-owning free males (presumably educated too). More on this point below. Nietzsche (and perhaps others ) note that democracy never lasts, it eventually decays into something worse, anarchy or despotism of one flavor or another. One symptom of a society as it declines is the quest for ever more wrongs to right. For example, consider the expansion of the right to vote over a few centuries. Using the USA history, first it was only wealthy educated males. Eventually the franchise expanded more to include all males, even freed slaves. Last came women about a century ago. Half a century ago, it was slightly expanded so that instead of age 21, people vote at 18. Today many States allow (most) convicted felons the vote. There is advocacy to allow non-citizens a vote. I think this is already done for some local and state elections. What next? Pets? Major point: there is only so far the reformer can go. Eventually you get to points of diminishing returns and/or absurdity. We are already well down the chute. I don't know the final end, but I suspect it won't be pretty.
Heh, have you had a look at the judges around world? "Your honour" is the common way to address them and very few know what honourable means.

It is worse than that - many known pedophiles have been knighted, like Sir Jimmy Saville.
