Here in the UK we have had an unseasonably mild winter so far. Does this mean all the 'quantative easing' by the Bank of England in the last two years hasn't worked?

C.H.'s avatar

Perhaps this means it has worked. After all according to the logic that seems to be prevalent these days, climate change with very cold winters cause inflation and central banks can apparently fight climate change. So it seems like all that money printing by the Bank of England left investors and consumers with extra money to burn and as we know burning money is supposed to have a stabilising effect, hence the mild winter so far. See it's working! Just have faith!

Yes, when it comes to anthropogenic climate change, faith is the operative word. https://twitter.com/lapogus1/status/1164858073497952256

Perhaps the COVID narrative is pivoting to climate lockdowns? Back in 2006, I saw "Inconvenient Truth" and I became a CO2 doomsdayer. Eventually, I became so concerned that I started obsessively reading about it. At some point, I finally realized there was no real proof for it and I eventually "cured" myself and became a climate skeptic. I remember a quote from a globalist who said something to the effect that "it doesn't matter if global warming is real or not since we can use it to justify the NWO".

I need to write something other than Covid too!

The one thing that climate change has done is kill a lot fewer people. Cold kills.

Made me recall the Project Veritas undercover video:

https://www.breitbart.com/the-media/2021/04/13/project-veritas-cnn-director-admits-our-focus-was-to-get-trump-out-of-office/

“We would always show shots of [Biden] jogging and that [he’s] healthy, you know, and him in aviator shades,” he remarked. “Like you paint him as a young geriatric.”

Chester stated CNN plans to frame “climate change” — a narrative framing human consumption of fossil fuels as a driver of a warming planet — as “the next COVID thing for CNN” with the ethos “fear sells.”

He forecasted, “[COVID] will taper off to a point that it’s not a problem, anymore. Climate change can take years, so [CNN will] probably be able to milk that quite a bit. … Climate change is going to be the next COVID thing for CNN. … Fear sells.”

“I think there’s a COVID fatigue,” he added. “So, like whenever a new story comes up, [CNN’s] going to latch onto it. They’ve already announced in our office that once the public is — will be open to it — we’re going to start focusing mainly on climate.”

“[Climate change] is going to be our focus,” he predicted. “Like our focus was to get Trump out of office, right? Without saying it, that’s what it was, right? So, our next thing is going to be for climate change awareness.”

Pity so few will see or hear about this specific propaganda campaign. Given the MSM's successful ability to demonize Trump and the R's they are able to move opinion. After all they already have the young convinced the planet expires in just a few years.

Good article . Capitalism 101 , create a false shortage by disrupting/laying off staff at the Chinese managed American ports , then raise the price of commodities across the board ., as the artificial bottle necks do their work . Then blame it on the fake plague aka Covid . It would seem all political and economic discussion leads back to the fake plague these days ? With oil prices nearing $100 a barrel and saber rattling over Ukraine and Taiwan becoming more bellicose , it looks like we are in for a long hot summer

I have studied climate science - and having read the IPCC reports in full I always find it interesting what the MSM and government get out of them (often things that have the authors themselves scratching their heads as to how their written conclusions were so badly interpreted). BTW -it seems there may be a typo in your last line of the article?

CNN info on this reads like a parody. I gotta give credit for creativity to whoever comes up with this stuff at some 3 letter agency and passes it on to another 3 letter agency (CNN) to work into a news story.

Weird. 40 years ago the science was settled that the ice age was coming.

On the other hand, Arrhenius argued (in his 1901 debate with Ångström) both that CO2 emissions drove the ice age cycle and that heigtened emissions of CO2 was necessary to feed the world and to stop the coming ice age.

Who knows? There once was a scientifically true* hypothesis of phlogiston too.

*Scientifically true of course meaning "what we think might be true given current knowledge, but only until (dis)proven".

I re-read your article and connecting the dots. So the Fed will spin a new narrative that Climate Change is causing inflation and use that as a justification to print more money. The Emergency will also allow governments to unleash more terror on small businesses (compliance), push us to eat fake meat, force us to drive electric cars with social credit based metered electricity and so on. They already have a proven template. My head hurts just thinking about the dystopian future :-(

Expand full comment
TB's avatar

Well, after all... inflation is an increase in the supply of money; if climate change is "causing" the fed to print money, then clearly the conclusion is that climate change is causing inflation. :)

Governors in blue states have learned that they can use an "emergency" to seize nearly unlimited control of their states indefinitely. In WA, Inslee has already said that "climate change" is a "permanent emergency," thus readying the state for further dictatorial measures and higher taxes.

They want to bring back the plow horses, so they have more horse shit to shovel. They are killing people to hide the starvation their climate scam is going to cause. They have nothing to frame, except a few years. The data has been made up. Most of the world has no data. I have heard Galveston Bay froze, back in the 1800's. A hurricane blew it away in 1901. According to these scammers, this never happened. The weather here reminds me, of the 1970's. except winter and summer seem to have their extremes later. 1980 was and is the hottest summer I recall and still is though I recall some hot ones around 2000. DFW is nearly 3 times the size, from 1970, so there is a lot more concrete. Go out of town 50 miles and it is 5 to 10 degrees cooler at night, in the summer. Global warming is more likely concrete warming.
