Most chemical drugs are dangerous and they hide it. They also hide huge compensations, which are still less than the profits of these pharmaceutical criminals. I damaged my nasal mucosa and sense of smell with an addictive decongestant. Of course, it is still available without a prescription.

I have a list of more than twenty meds both prescription and OTC that I can't tolerate. Anaphylaxis from guaifenesin among other fun experiences. It seems like the more recent the drug the worse the side effects which you don't hear about until long after FDA approval. Can't tell you how much I hate big pharma.

I'm 73 and take no meds. When I look back over the last 25-30 years or so, every single medication a doctor tried to foist on me for this or that has had a bad outcome down the road from its release. This includes hormone therapy for menopause in which I had zero annoying symptoms....doctor claimed it would "protect my heart". The opposite turned out to be true. Later it was statins for my lifelong familial higher cholesterol (the acceptable numbers keep changing!). Thank God I refused every single medication, and I credit this ongoing refusal of pharmaceuticals for my current excellent health. I've eaten a largely keto diet with no sugar or starches for at least 20 years. I'm a slim weight. I exercise, I ski, I mountain bike. Long ago I took control of my health and didn't lie down like a doormat and let any clueless doctor tell me what to do. They never seemed to know what I knew based on a lot of my own research and reading. So long ago I stopped granting doctors my trust. I almost never go to a doctor anyway...only for things such as a recent tendon tear in my foot. I'll go for an injury, nothing else because all the other stuff is controllable myself.

I avoid doctors to the point that two years ago when I broke a few toes on my right foot and maybe a metatarsal I did not go to a doctor. Same with bad ankle sprains over the years. Things healed fine on their own. Cervical spine stenosis and disc herniation threw me into the medical system a "virgin". If I had it to do over I would have treated it with physical training which has worked well for the latest development. God help the innocents who trust doctors.

And... Unlike you, I had utterly terrible low estrogen after the change and was shamed and browbeaten over taking HRT. It's absolutely justified to take estrogen and progesterone for some women but the stupid doctors have all stampeded in the opposite direction. One moron gyn tried to switch me from prempro to paxil. Oh yeah, like I'm going to risk the side effects of an SSRI for some piddly, improbable increase in estrogen. I fired her. Now I go telemed for hrt and thank God they're there.
