The distrust will continue and hopefully people will become more critical thinkers, however, i don’t count on that either. I know our adult children have become cynical and doubtful of their doctors’ advice and see how they push vaccines and drugs! Just the other day our 36 year old son went to his primary care doctor because he had to; since he’s on some medication, and all the doctor did was preach negativities, drugs, and the flu vaccine! Never once did the doctor ask about his eating habits, nutrition, his exercise, vitamins, mental state, or anything else unrelated to drugs and vaccines. It’s totally sickening. He’s learning And he sees through it and understands it. yeah!

But by the time I traveled home Walgreens had called--my statin Rx was ready!! Doc--you’re Fired. Another one kept raising my BP med. I was in an accident. Required surgery and my anxiety level was sky high. She scared me so much afterwards that normal readings were impossible. But I needed more and mor Rx . I fired her, turned off everything. MSM too and started walking outdoors quit taking BP at home. All was better. Curiously or providentially it was a month before Covid that I turned it all off. Never turned it back on. Total cholesterol means absolutely NOTHING. cholesterol is there in the circulatory systems for protection. Like a fireman at a fire. They didn’t start it—but fight it. As we age we need more cholesterol for our brains. Our body makes it. It’s isn’t like a clogged pipe. I told the last doc when she said oh no your cholesterol is over 200 —good. I need it at 74. Of course small particle ldl is not good but there are tests to check. Your HDl snd triglycerides ratio gives a clue on that. You probably know all this but it’s easy to climb on this particular soap box for me. 🤪🤔

One of the roots of the medical profession capture that doesn't get enough attention on these boards are the insurance companies. The doctors have to treat according to insurance specs to get reimbursement correct. With the insurers conspiring with the government they force most practitioners to conform. Big health provides just enough health care to guarantee they get a place at the feeding trough and spend as little time and money on patients as possible.

I am a nutritionist and actually be glad the doctor didn’t give nutrition advice. I wish I wrote down all the odd and downright harmful nutrition advice doctors have given to my clients. When I gave in person presentations I would start off with “ I am not a doctor so I do not treat, cure or diagnose. But your doctor is not a nutritionist and should not be giving you diet, supplement or herbal advice” I don’t even understand why it’s allowed for doctors to give nutrition advice when they have maybe a few hours in medical school spent on the topic. Find a qualified nutrition professional with an individualized root cause approach instead.

Brandy's avatar

Very interesting. I was just thinking about community needs versus individual needs and I’ve been actually considering it since I first learned about Marxism and the tyrants of history. Covid is the first real major opportunity to force this quasi political system on America. I can see the value in both focusing on the good of the community and focusing on the good of the individual in general. Both have value, both have drawbacks. In my opinion, when you focus on the good of the individual, the community generally takes care of itself because things that are good for the individual are beneficial for the community. (I’m of course looking at this from the context of the Christian values that say each individual person is a child of God and has value but should strive to live then teachings of Jesus Christ and the Bible.) Heathy living, serving others, having enough resources to meet personal needs through hard work (to the extent possible), taking responsibility for decisions, caring for ones own children, repenting and paying restitution, giving charity, respect for marriage etc. Of course with the focus on individuality, you essentially can’t force people to do those things so you end up with community problems as more and more of the population stops adhering to those general values- the ones that originally came with the radical idea of individual freedom. Examples of some consequences is widespread chronic disease, out of wedlock births, low levels of charitable giving, etc.

The major problem , from my perspective, with putting community rights above individual rights is that it is the perfect opportunity for psychopathic authoritarians to step in, tell some lies about what is good for the community, and then try to fashion society in a way that benefits themselves. Enter Covid... How many times does this need to happen before people recognize the pattern?

Anyhow, thank you for sharing that insight. I think there actually is a reasonable argument for the need for community rights because society eventually reaches a tipping point where poor individual choices result in harm to the community. However, putting people like Fauci (mr Pharma) in charge is a huge mistake. Instead of mandating healthy choices, they mandated a kill shot. It’s one way to deal with chronic disease, if you think about it. Not my cup of tea though. If I was forced to deal with widespread chronic disease, and I was a communitarian, I’d mandate vegetables, exercise, and I would shut down (selective) food processing plants and any fast food places that served processed seed oils, sugar and other refined junk foods!
