What's the difference between a conspiracy theory and a fact? About 3 months.

In science we tend to avoid the term "fact". It can change with new evidence. What we are aiming at is understanding of reality, and that may change with additional evidence. It is not set in stone, it is our understanding of reality, and we have limited evidence.

As a chemist, I get that. But the comment was (sort of) a joke for rhetorical effect. Also, the article wasn't about some complex, nebulous scientific hypothesis. It was about the "elite's" desire to strip us of our ability to financially transact outside the purview of their baleful gaze. At this point, it's hard to argue against that being a fact.

Yes, that is why the Evil Marxists use the word and the stupid " fact checking " that I can't believe some people fell for and parroted.

Same with " the Science " ridiculous again. There is no such thing as " the Science ".

The Marxists Weaponize language to control.

I was thinking of starting a fact checking service. but I guess it should be called reality checking.

But like you say, it changes momentarily so you cannot.

Maybe you were kidding....

I should have said, "seeking reality".

No, you can't seek something that keeps changing, like chasing your tail, you will never catch it.

Not saying you have a tail.

FWIW reality and facts don't change. And you can seek them. You just can't ever be certain you've found them :-). The distinction is nevertheless important.

Please understand, I was not saying reality changes, I am saying that the more evidence we have, the closer we get to understanding reality. Some people have tails, an atavism.

FWIW we can never understand reality. There are only two entirely consistent ways of looking at the world.

1. God exists and reality only has meaning in the context of God who we cannot, by definition, understand.

2. God does not exist, and we live in a world of pure rationalism. In such a world there are no initial premises upon which we can base our tower of rationality, and therefore we can discover nothing at all. Once we realize this - we end up with nihilism - which is exactly where we have arrived. Milton predicted it as soon as he saw the process begin - and he was 100% correct.

The age of enlightenment and the age of reason were just Satan again - offering us another apple.

SH,

Agree.

Dumb question, and I think I know the answer but, was the gay black man in the WH Barry Soetoro ?

Secondly, if I may ask, to help others, how did not listening to the standard mantra help you manage through living with your condition? I am interested from a medical perspective.

Interesting your last sentence, I now stop and talk to the J Witnesses on street corners and I never did before. They knew what was up and they do now also. They are completely unafraid, unlike regular citizens. I imagine the Omish are thé same.

True. Also the past 4yrs have taught us that "conspiracy theory" is another term for "spoiler alert".
