[Read’s group started their investigation by exposing vaccinated and unvaccinated Rhode Island Red chickens to one of five Marek’s disease strains that ranged from hot to cold. The hottest strains killed every unvaccinated bird within 10 days, and the team noticed that barely any virus was shed from the feathers of the chickens during that time. (The virus spreads via contaminated dust in chicken coops). In contrast, vaccination extended the lifespan of birds exposed to the hottest strains, with 80 percent living longer than two months. But the vaccinated chickens were transmitting the virus, shedding 10,000 times more virus than an unvaccinated bird.
“Previously, a hot strain was so nasty, it wiped itself out. Now, you keep its host alive with a vaccine, then it can transmit and spread in the world,” Read said. “So it’s got an evolutionary future, which it didn’t have before.”]
I've been sweating a bit about that ever since I first read the studies on Marek's disease many months ago. I am trusting my natural immune system to prevail using our other innate defense mechanisms; unfortunately, without any evidence to contradict the chickens' predicament, I cannot be sure an unvaxxed, slightly pickled, old beaten up athletes body will survive. Perhaps years of abusing myself living on pharmaceuticals, beer, and caffeine has strengthened my immunity. I haven't had more than sniffle in many years (full disclosure: I have been taking vitamins for the first time in my life - zinc and lots of vitamin D, and my diet is mostly protein and fat (Native Indian - Dene - my ancestors had no starches, and the only green thing to eat was moss. "You have to eat vegetables" is bull---t! for my people at least.))
Me too - protein and fat, but I do add greens. Ditto on adding Vitamin D at much higher doses (in addition to adding magnesium and vitamin K2), which amazingly has had noticeable effects. Problem is my diet-Soda addiction. Giving mutational future to viruses by using vaccines that allow infection and re-infection of the vaccinated just does not sound like a good idea.
