I'm conceiving a safe way to steal electricity from behind the smart meter. Imagine a device like a cable greaser, but big enough to go around the electrical cable. You drill three very small holes around the perimeter, every 120 degrees. you probe with a very small point in each hole, you attach a wire to this point, you put an in line fuse. eventually you can find all three conductors You only really need one, you can just find the 230 and then ground it yourself.
No risk, their system isn't going to notice the juice that flows which burns your 1/4 amp fuse (a circuit breaker would be better. So, everybody can go behind the counter and when they send somebody to look, the neighbors all get together and "pants" him or tease him. Maybe a litre of sugary water in the company car. All good fun.
But I think if everybody's reasonable they won't notice. If you start all heating your houses with 40 year old electric heaters they'll show up quicker.
